The Dutch Prosecutor's Office requested 10 years in prison for the Albanian Thanas Bako, who was arrested some time ago in Athens on suspicion of having an important role in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics.
Dutch investigators consider him to be the man who collected the money generated by drug trafficking activity in two different areas there.
According to Dutch media reports, during the judicial process, Bako, who is originally from Saranda, has claimed that he is innocent and that he has not broken the law.
The investigators say otherwise, who claim that during the years 2020 to March 2021, he moved billions of Euros through several couriers. He instructed the couriers to collect the money and deliver it to him.
At the end of last year, Greece and the Dutch Prosecutor's Office looked at the possibility of preliminary agreements for a possible sentence, but this did not succeed and the case against him is being tried on the merits.
Meanwhile, many of his associates were convicted at the beginning of this year.
