The National Diaspora Agency, established 5 years ago as part of the Ministry of Diaspora and then as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be merged.

The reasons for such a decision by the government are related to the costs and the fact that the work of this structure is done for years by a sector in the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.

According to the draft law in the MFA there will be an internal reorganization, saving the state budget 71 million ALL, of which 35 million are staff costs. With the money of the rents for the offices, a cultural center can be set up in a country where there are many Albanians.

The agency that dealt with diaspora issues, the draft law says, simplifies the processes related to them, but complicates them by bringing unnecessary costs to the state budget.

Recall that a year ago the Ministry of Diaspora was dissolved, where this has an agency that is now being dissolved was part of it. Now, the work of the Diaspora Agency will be done by a department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Albanian embassies and consulates around the world.
