Six young Italians who were on vacation in Albania were raped in Tirana. According to their account to Italian media, the incident occurred on July 29 and they were beaten by a group of about 20 young men aged 16-18.

The Italians say that at first some officers did not help them and completely ignored them, but another group of police officers came to their aid. The next day, they decided that the first thing they would do was return home.

Meanwhile, the Tirana Police have also reacted to the incident.

According to the Police, the incident occurred at around 10:00 PM on July 29, 2026 and was immediately handled by the services of Police Commissariat No. 1 for the criminal offense of "Intentional Minor Injury".

Initially, they were offered assistance by the Municipal Police and then the boy was taken to the hospital.

The Italian left voluntarily without completing medical examinations, while neither he nor the other two filed a police report.

From the camera footage, it appeared that the injured person had been in conflict with a group of minors.

Full announcement:

Regarding a published video showing a slightly injured Italian citizen, we clarify that the incident occurred at around 22:00, on 29.07.2026, in the area behind the Palace of Culture, and was immediately treated by the Police for the criminal offense of "Intentional slight injury".

Specifically, the services of the Police Commissariat No. 1, after receiving a report from the Operations Room about a conflict, immediately went to the scene, where they found the Italian citizen GM, with minor superficial injuries. His two friends were also at the scene, who accompanied him. The Italian citizen was initially assisted by Municipal Police officers, who were nearby.

The citizen was then transported to receive medical assistance. According to the statements of the medical personnel and the examination of the medical record, he was conscious, out of danger to his life and with minor superficial injuries to his limbs. After receiving first aid, he left of his own accord, without completing the medical examinations and without notifying the medical staff of his departure.

This citizen also refused to file a report regarding the conflict and the people who had harmed him.

Even the two citizens who accompanied him did not provide information regarding the circumstances of the conflict.

Despite the lack of a report from the Italian citizen, the investigation team continued its investigation, reviewing the video footage, which showed that the Italian citizen was involved in a conflict with a group of minors in the back of the Palace of Culture.

The investigative group continues its actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, identify the persons involved, and fully document the case legally.
