He insists that the tumor he is fighting is more affordable than the justice decision that found him guilty and sentenced him to five years in prison.

"I had it easier with my illness", says Shpëtim Daci.

Due to numerous health problems, the 66-year-old Daci must appear at the probation service in Tirana for the next 5 years, and for this reason, he has left his family in Greece, where he has been living for years, to face the verdict, which considers him guilty of providing assistance for illegal border crossing.

Daci thotë se u gjend nën shënjestrën e policisë gjatë vitit 2018, kur në udhëtimin e kthimit nga Tirana drejt Greqisë, ai vendosi të marrë në automjetin privat një shtetase kosovare e cila rezultoi se po tentonte t’i bashkohej familjes në Itali.

“Ishte një taksixhi bashkë me këto dy kosovaret edhe po bonin pazar jo du kaq lek, jo du aq, në një moment del në telefon pronari, më thotë o çuno këto duan me shku në Sarandë, do t’i marrësh bëj pazar. Ai iku. I thash hajde t’ju çoj unë. Merri i tha taksixhiu, t’ju marr 200 mijë lek, ishin 4 kosovarë, u thash t’ju çoj në Sarandë”, tha ai.

Daci këmbëngul se u kthye në Shqipëri për të mos vdekur pa marrë drejtësinë.

"Without doing anything, let them put me in prison, in prison I will have a bed, I will have a nurse, a yzmet, so no one will make me yzmet, I fainted at night, come people help me, I curse them with all my heart that they took revenge on me, they have nowhere to go, if I had taken them instead of taking them to Delvina, the traffickers have not been caught", he said.

In the court's decision, Edmond Troka and Besim Gashi were declared guilty along with the 66-year-old. The latter, the person who tried to take his wife to Italy through forged documents.

In the dossier it is mentioned that the driver Daci fell ill near Saranda and that he was taken to Tirana for urgent medical intervention. Despite this, so far he is winning over the tumor, but not with justice./TCh
