File Bulku, the mother of a son with autism, has given her version of the event that occurred yesterday in front of Parliament, where she and her son were hit by pepper spray that was being thrown during clashes with protesters.
Their images went viral on social media, while more than 130,000 euros have been raised on the GoFundMe platform to help them.
During a statement to journalist Osman Stafa, File Bulku commented on the statement of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who, during the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, said that the mother and son with autism spectrum disorders were used as shields at the moment of the attack on the State Police during the protest.
"Exactly there, at the end of the gap, the crows and ravens put their hand of hypocritical solidarity to take her to Parliament and accuse her, using her as a shield while they attacked the State Police with masks. And then they put her in front of the camera, raped her and brought her out to the Majlis to cry her sorrow," the prime minister said.
But File Bulku declares that she did not participate in the protest yesterday. According to her, at the moment she was hit by the pepper spray, she was returning after taking her son to therapy. The mother of the autistic boy further demanded a confrontation with the prime minister.
Bulku: I wasn't at the protest at all. I drove the car to therapy and the roads were blocked. On my way back from Parliament, they threw pepper spray in my eyes.
Staff : So, you were there by chance?
Bulku: Yes, I was there by chance.
Staff: So the Prime Minister says that others brought you?
Bulku : No, no. Let the prime minister come and confront me. Let the police confront me too.
Staff : What happened there?
Bulku: The roads to Parliament were blocked. When I left they were open, but when I returned they threw pepper in my eyes. Do you throw pepper in a boy's eyes? No, Prime Minister, you are putting the boy in harm's way. Let Edi Rama confront me.
