8 illegal immigrants were crossing, 2 "transporters" were caught in

Another case of illegal border crossing has been reported in our country.

Two young men, aged 20 and 23, have been arrested by police in Elbasan for migrant trafficking. 

According to the Police announcement, the two young men were transporting 8 immigrants from third countries, who had entered our country illegally.

During the operation, the two vehicles used to transport the migrants were also seized.

DVP Elbasan/Two more phases of the police operation codenamed "Axis" are being finalized, to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance for illegal border crossing, in return for profit.

2 citizens are arrested for transporting 8 immigrants from Third Countries, who had entered Albania illegally. 2 vehicles used for transporting immigrants are seized.

Specialists of the Trafficking Investigation Section of the Elbasan Police Department, following the police operation codenamed "Aksi", based on the information provided, have finalized 2 more phases of this operation. Specifically:

During the phase of operation "Axis 4", citizen LL, 23 years old, resident of Shkozet, was arrested in flagrante delicto. During the phase of operation "Axis 5", citizen EM, 20 years old, resident of Durrës, was arrested in flagrante delicto.

The 2 vehicles used to transport the migrants were seized as material evidence.

Investigations are ongoing to fully document this criminal activity, as well as to identify other persons involved.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Elbasan, for further action.
