"I found the bullet at the head of the bed"/ The murder of the
Cajup Selimi

In the next session at the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCAC), Leonard Selimi , a relative of businessman Çajup Selimi , who was murdered on June 1, 2021, testified .

This event was previously confessed by the repentant justice minister, Artan Tafani, who stated that he was paid 25 thousand euros by Laert Haxhiu for the execution of Selim.

According to Tafani's testimony, at the moment of the murder, the victim had looked him in the eye as he was shot, without realizing where the bullets were hitting him.

Meanwhile, Leonard Selimi testified that he did not see the perpetrator and did not hear any shots, but found a bullet in his apartment, at the head of the bed.

"I didn't hear any gunshots. I found the bullet inside the house, at the head of the bed. I gave it to the police the next day. I hadn't seen anything that night. I only saw the hole in the door," he testified.

Selimi said that Çajup knew Selimi as a hardworking boy and that before he was killed, he knew nothing about him.

"After he was killed, we found out that he had problems. He had a fight with some guys from the village of Veliqot in Tepelena, I don't know their names, but I know their faces. There were three guys, they had one or two fights. They were then sorted out and came to the funeral. The fight was over. I don't know about any other open fight. I can't explain the murder," he testified at the Criminal Court.

" When the murder happened, I was at home. It was on my floor below, June 1, around 9:00 PM. I didn't hear any noise and I didn't see the perpetrator. I opened the door because the bullet hit the door. I didn't hear any gunshots. I found the bullet inside the house, at the head of the bed. I gave it to the police the next day. I hadn't seen anything that night. I only saw the hole in the door.

When I went out the door I saw blood. I tried to give him first aid. Blood was coming out of his mouth, there was no reaction from him. His daughter-in-law came out, then someone from the first floor and everyone else. I heard about it on television.

I knew him as a hardworking guy, a quiet guy. If you wanted a phone number, he could find it. He sold cement, he had a warehouse. He never sat with us in the cafe, but we talked about young things.

Before he was killed, we didn't know anything about him. After he was killed, we found out that he had problems. He had a fight with some guys from the village of Veliqot in Tepelena, I don't know their names, but I know their faces. There were three guys, they had one or two fights. They were then sorted out and came to the funeral. The fight was over. I don't know anything about any other open fight. I can't explain the murder ."
