Journalist Artur Zheji suffered cardiac arrest while celebrating the birthday of his son, Patrik, in a restaurant on "Butrinti" street in Saranda.

His friends say that Zheji also suffered from diabetes. He was given first aid and rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately did not survive the heart attack.

His untimely death has deeply shocked public opinion, as many journalists and politicians have reacted.

Minister Taulant Balla wrote: "Very, very sad news about the untimely separation of journalist Artur Zheji. Rest in peace, friend!"

The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, said that "it is a great sadness when a friend and a professional like him loses his life so suddenly and at the peak of his life and professional maturity. A great and irreplaceable loss, not only for his family, but also for the community of journalists, with whom I share my most sincere condolences!"

The National Theater expresses its sorrow for the death of Artur Zheji, who not only as a journalist, but also as a publicist and playwright has left his mark on the Albanian theater scene.

"In his creativity, the word became a reflection of the time and society, enriching not only the media and the public debate, but also our national scene. His memory will remain alive in the history of our art and culture. Sincere condolences to family, friends and the entire artistic community", reads the message of the National Theater.
The Association of Journalists of Albania has expressed its condolences after the untimely death of the well-known journalist and publicist, Artur Zheji.

"With a long and rich career in the field of journalism and media, Zheji stood out as one of the most respected personalities of Albanian journalism, leaving an indelible mark with his analysis, writings and contribution to the development of critical and professional opinion in the country. At this painful moment, the Association of Journalists of Albania expresses its sincere condolences to his family, relatives, colleagues and friends, sharing with them the pain of the loss of a rare personality of the Albanian media," the message reads.
