After Adnan Xholi, prosecutor Rovena Zoto (Bozo) is running for the position of Prosecutor General.

Zoto has filed her request with the KLP. Currently, Zoto works as a prosecutor at the Tirana Prosecutor's Office. She previously worked in Lushnja and Fier.

Yesterday, Adnan Xholi also entered the competition.

According to the 2016 constitutional amendments, the Chief Prosecutor is elected by three-fifths of the Assembly for a 7-year term and without the right to be appointed.

Initially, the names aiming for the position submit the file to the High Prosecutorial Council which makes the first filter and then the list of three candidates who qualify is forwarded to Parliament for voting. Since the amendment of the fundamental law of the state, it was Arta Marku who was elected as the number one prosecutor, although with a temporary mandate, replacing Adriatik Llalla.

At that time, the opposition opposed the procedure by protesting outside and inside the Parliament hall. Further, in December 2019 Olsian Çela received a full mandate. In the amendment to the Constitution, SPAK is considered a separate structure from the General Prosecutor's Office.
