After a 10-day search and rescue operation, the Southern Infantry Regiment has managed to find the body of 42-year-old Ilir Kurti, who ended his life by jumping into the river, at the place called "Blezënka Bridge", near the Osumi Canyons in Skrapar.

On February 20, the motorcycle he was riding, some personal belongings, and his cell phone were found at the scene, from which it emerged that the 42-year-old had sent a message to his brother, telling him that he was jumping into the river.

According to family members, he had been closed off for months and was suffering greatly from the separation from his son, with whom he had not spoken for 7 years, after his ex-wife had taken him with her to her homeland, Romania, when she left Skrapar.
