Pope Francis approves the proclamation of two more Albanian martyrs

The Catholic Church has announced today that Pope Francis has approved the proclamation of 2 more Albanian martyrs, Gjon Gazulli and Luigi Paliq, bringing to 40 the number of clerics killed for their faith.

Pope Francis has authorized His Grace Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, Prefect of the Dicastery for Sacred Affairs, to announce the Decrees regarding:

– Martyrdom of the Servant of God Luigi (born Matteo) Palić in Albanian Palić, declared a Priest of the Franciscan Order Minor, born on February 20, 1877 in Janjevë (Kosovo) and killed by hatred for religion on March 7, 1913 in Pejë .

– Martyrdom of the Servant of God Gjon Gazulli, diocesan priest, born on March 26, 1893 in Dajç of Zadrima (Albania) and killed in hatred of religion on March 5, 1927.
