SERIOUS VIEWS/ The Terrible Maundy Thursday Ritual!

Real crosses, bloody whips, and people who lost their way in pain. These are the scenes of Maundy Thursday in the Philippines, where devout believers perform a violent ritual, beating themselves.

Maundy Thursday is the day before Easter and is celebrated by millions of Christians around the world in commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ and his disciples.

This is an annual practice that allows worshipers to wash away their sins. However, these actions have been evaluated as extreme even by Pope Francis.
