Operation 'Fijet' goes to Elbasan/ 37 security cameras are removed, 10

As part of the "Fijet" operation, the Elbasan police have dismantled and seized 37 security cameras installed by criminal groups.

The investigation has also started for 10 people who installed these cameras in violation of the law. Work continues to identify all the people who installed the cameras.

The tenth national phase of the operational plan coded "Fijet", initiated by DPPSH, is finalized in Elbasan district.

So far, in this district, 37 cameras have been dismantled and in-depth investigations have been initiated for 10 citizens for installing these cameras, in violation of the laws in force.

The investigative structures of DVP Elbasan, in cooperation with the police stations subordinate to it, in implementation of the tasks defined within the nationwide operational plan coded "Fijet", initiated by the General Directorate of the State Police, as well as supported by information intelligence, for the unauthorized placement of some cameras in the cities of Elbasan, Gramsci and Peqin, in order to provide information, for criminal purposes, as well as to monitor the movements of the Police, have organized the work for the identification and dismantling of these cameras, the identification of the owners of these cameras, as well as for the full legal documentation of the purpose of use.

-During the tenth national phase of this operational plan, in Elbasan, in the neighborhoods "5 Maji", "Sul Paprri", "Syrja Dylgjeri" and "Liberation", 28 cameras were dismantled and in-depth investigations were initiated, in cooperation with Prosecution of Elbasan, for 5 citizens, specifically for: D. Rr., IB, HB, K. Xh. and AI

- The operational plan continued in Gramsh, where 4 cameras were dismantled and seized in violation of the law, and investigations were initiated for the citizens: RD, S. Xh. and A. Ç., as well as in the city of Peqin, where 5 cameras were dismantled and investigations were initiated for citizens HZ and E. Xh.

The seized cameras were installed without the relevant permission of the competent bodies. Their deployment is contrary to Law 9887, dated 10.03.2008 "On the protection of personal data" and constitutes the criminal offense "Unjust interference in private life", which is provided for by Article 121 of the Criminal Code.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Elbasan Judicial District Court, intensive work continues to identify the citizens who have installed these cameras, as well as to fully clarify the purpose of their installation.
