The decision of the Special Court in The Hague, which sentenced the four former KLA leaders, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, to a total of 81 years in prison , was met with dissatisfaction by citizens who considered it unfair. Today, about 50 KLA veterans arrived at the Port of Durres.
They hold flags with KLA symbols and the inscription "Freedom has a name", while expressing disappointment with the decision. They declared that they will continue to support them and hope that the decision will be changed in the appeal.
"O Hashim, where are you, the KLA is here," they said in unison.
During a statement to the media, Ismail Selmani appealed that despite the disappointments, citizens should show restraint. He emphasized that citizens should follow the advice of former President Hashim Thaçi and give a positive spirit.
"Hashim Thaçi is a patriot, that's why he left office as president, his message has been very clear. Stop the protests both in Kosovo and Albania, not to destroy the country we live in. Give a positive spirit, even though we are disappointed," said Ismail Selmani.
