A 74-year-old man who killed his son with a knife at his home in 'Kodra e Priftit' the day before has been placed in handcuffs by the capital's police. 

"Specialists for the Investigation of Serious Crimes in cooperation with Police Commissariat No. 4 arrested in flagrante delicto citizen Hekuran Gjoni, 74 years old, resident of Tirana. The arrest of this citizen took place after yesterday afternoon, during a momentary conflict for weak motives, he hit his son citizen Asim Gjoni with a cutting tool, who as a result lost his life in hospital", the police informed today.

Hekuran Gjoni told investigators yesterday that he did not want to kill his son, but the situation got out of control. He also claimed that he often had conflicts with his son Asim because, according to him, he cursed and bullied him.

The materials were passed to the Prosecution Office, for further procedural actions, for the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations", charged against citizen Hekuran Gjoni.
