This is Etleva Bodi, the Albanian who was killed by her husband Selami Bodi. The serious event happened on Friday evening at the family's home in Savona, Italy. A fight caused the 41-year-old to put his hands in the throat of his only 31-year-old wife. She fell into a coma and passed away Sunday evening in the hospital.
Etleva was the mother of 4 children. Earlier, the Italian media also published details on the first statements given by the suspected author to his relatives.
He is reported to have expressed repentance, saying that he "hoped that Allah would forgive him" . The 41-year-old is reported to have belonged to the Muslim faith, and the Italian media describe him as radical in his faith, something he seems to have instilled in his family. The 31-year-old wife was reportedly covered, while the 41-year-old himself was a regular visitor to the Savona mosque.
And according to the Italian media, it is learned that he had also banned his wife's mobile phone. And precisely the latter is suspected to be the reason for the fight that ended in tragedy.
Until now, the investigative authorities have not been able to interrogate the 41-year-old because he is in isolation with signs of tuberculosis. He is expected to testify about the crime as soon as possible.
The author's only testimony so far is what he told his cousin when the latter arrived at the scene . " I left the orphaned children on the street , " he told his relative Robert Spata.
Spata also confessed to the Italian media that the eldest of the couple's children had asked him to take him to the hospital to say goodbye to his mother.
“The oldest of the children asked me to take him to the hospital to say goodbye to his mother before she died. I will never forget the tears on his face ," he confessed.
