"There is no way that Gerti could have done this at the behest of someone, who has something on his mind," says one of his friends.

Convinced that his friend was living in not very good economic conditions, the young man remembers that Gerti was neither a trafficker nor a drug distributor.

"You read in the portals that Gerti was so and so. They are not true. Gert was a straight guy, he didn't mess with anyone. He lived and wore used clothes. He was honest and neither filed nor a police informer. What are these things you are saying?", another acquaintance of the arrested person who is being investigated by the police for assault due to duty, testifies to Gazetasi.al.

The young man insists that his friend was abandoned, worked as a motorcycle deliveryman and was poor.

"He didn't steal, he didn't mess around, sometimes he was teased, but it's painful what happened to him", says one of the women in the neighborhood.

Between bullying and medication

In fact, the 31-year-old lived between the voice of the imam who invites the faithful to prayer and the voice of the sellers who call "open the bag for clothes".

Residents say that his father left for the USA and he was an only child. The mother, a construction engineer, tried to get the income to live and also to guarantee medicine for her son.

Gazetasi.al tried to contact the mother of the detainee, who did not answer the phone.

"One day he told me that I will do something to become famous. I didn't understand, but he was thinking, he went to the mosque, he worked, sometimes these gringos with money made fun of him, but he, closed as he was, answered them, some shot him when he spoke. There were problems, but I was never afraid of him", a woman who knows his family very well tells Gazetasi.al.

According to her, the attack carried out by Gerti is nothing but the action of a boy who suffered from mental health problems, but above all of a young man who worked, was bullied by others through videos and had not managed to survive like his peers.
