Journalist Enver Robelli, who lives and works in Switzerland, has commented on the recent developments regarding the investigations against the former director of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, describing them as a serious blow to the image and security of Albania.
Robelli said that recent developments confirm, according to him, the criticisms raised by international factors about the way institutions function in Albania.
According to Robelli, with this terrible news, the entire propaganda image built over the past few years falls apart.
"What happened confirms the accusations of many critics, especially within the EU, that Albania, unfortunately, is only seen as a Banana Republic. Those colorful, parrot-colored ties of the prime minister, his sneakers, do not work here, what matters are the results. The entire propaganda image, built over these years, falls with this news, which is terrible.
On one hand, we have a facade that Albania is progressing on the path towards the EU, and on the other hand, we have these clashes, these situations, which shake the state's security system.
We are not dealing with a violation of the law, or an assumption that the law was violated by an officer in Kukës or Dibër, but we are dealing with an institution that should be an insurmountable dam in protecting the interests of the state.
"This speaks volumes about the person who appointed him. It seems very strange to me how this has no consequences. There are no consequences because the critical mass in Albania has not yet reached the level where it cannot tolerate this system, but in any serious state this would have extremely large consequences, even at very high levels. Beyond the comical side, this is brutally harmful for Albania," he told A2.
