On December 15, 2025, during a Democratic Party protest in front of the prime minister's office, a student took to the podium and declared that state officials had asked him for 5 to 10 thousand euros in bribes to get him a job.
A serious accusation, but in that speech, student Eljon Kaja did not mention which office he had been asked to pay this bribe.
"I came to Tirana as a student. Despite my excellent average, I did not receive a scholarship, as the scholarship was given to friends of the party. Thanks to the support of my family and my hard work, I managed to finish those studies. I looked for work in the corrupt offices and institutions of Rilindja. But unfortunately there I was faced with people with eight-year degrees, whose specialization is the red card, and they asked me for 5,000 to 10,000 euros for a job. Which has no guarantee, since the corrupt directors of Rilindja continue to be changed every month," he said.
He then added that, just like him, there are hundreds or thousands of Albanians who graduate and end up working as waiters or bartenders. Serious accusations for a young student who aspires to enter politics.
"Do you expect to receive a salary from the municipality, or on voting day to receive a separate 200 euros? Of course not, this is not the solution. Professor Doctor Sali Berisha, we democrats, above all all Albanians have entrusted you with this task, to lead them to victory. We young Albanians are ready to sacrifice everything, everything, with everyone, at any price to face these trash and scoundrels, who are killing our hope and our dream every day," said Eljoni from the podium on December 15.
A few days after this speech, the Fiks Fare group sought out Eljon and met him in Tirana. He is from the village of Kryevidh in Rrogozhina and has been involved in the structures of the Democratic Party since the age of 13. He says that he became the chairman of the FRPD at the age of 16 and managed to bring over 40 people to Tirana for large protests. So far, there is nothing wrong with this, since a young person who aspires to politics must also have new ideas. To bring a new spirit. So, Fiksi asked him whether or not he had evidence of bribery of up to 10 thousand euros.
"Realtors ask for money everywhere, in cafes. That's not the idea I applied for. Yes, without going to the office at all, but to the neighborhood bar. The other guy comes and says, they did it here from Tirana. You go to the cafe and someone comes and says they know the director and the job is done," he said in the meeting with Fiksi.
Are there names of people, officials, institutions? Where did Eljoni go and who asked him for money?!
He replies that "we are not here to hurt people, that's why I say, I don't talk or anything. You know, the realtor gets the job done here". The journalists insist on which office he went to, who he met. "I didn't go to the office, I didn't go, it's useless. I only went to the neighborhood bar and they meet you, I know you" he continues. But, do he have any concrete names of the realtors? "No, I don't, I don't have any names" continues the 23-year-old, while adding that he doesn't want to denounce them, since he has a lot of business, since his grandfather left him a lot of property. His father also left them.
"I have it for these poor people, the others. For other students, who are scammers," adds Eljoni, while throwing another punch. "That conversation has 7 me and 4 people have changed. He (the realtor) said in the cafe that I know. I was in a neighborhood cafe. They are not to blame for asking, I understand their case," he continues.
The conversation with Eljon is the same as with old politicians. The mindset is the same. Even if the force he adheres to comes to power, Eljon has clear ideas. For himself and for the people of the party who surround him. "Because even ours were, a m... will be. They all do that work. They have expenses, they have spent there to extort. We know the reality," he concluded.
Fiksi tried to deepen Eljon's accusation. To go with him to the state offices. Where and who asked him for money for the job? But, in the end, he declared that "even ours were like that, they would ask for money the same way."
Conversation between the Fiks Fare group and 23-year-old Eljon Kaja:
Journalist – Are you with the Youth Forums?
Student – Yes, I am the President of the Youth Forum in Rrogozhina.
Journalist – Whose, all of Rrogozhina?
Student – Yes.
Journalist – Have you been engaged for a long time?
Student – For years, I was the mayor of Kryevid.
Journalist – How old are you, Eljon?
Student – 23.
Journalist – You are 23.
Student – I have been the chairman for 7 years, I have been the chairman for 8 years. I have been involved in the organization for 2 years, before that I was 9 years old. I have been involved in the organization for 10 years. I became the chairman at 16 (years old), how did I become the chairman! I became the chairman because I brought 40 people here, you have all the photos and videos.
Journalist – In Rrogozhina?
Student – I started in Kryevidh, I had a good group.
Journalist – Where did they ask you for money, in what country?
Student – Brother, realtors everywhere are asking for money, man.
Journalist – Where, in what country?
Student – They ask for you at the cafe!
Journalist – Where did you apply?
Student – It's not the idea I applied for. The idea is...
Journalist – Where did you go?
Student – Without even going to the office! At the local bar, my husband, the other person comes to tell you.
Journalist – In Rrogozhina or here in Tirana?!
Student – Here, here and there.
Journalist – Where in Tirana?
Student – You know it yourself, I don't want to talk about these things. Someone comes to meet you, I know the director, your work is over.
Journalist – Do you know anyone we can record?!
Student – No, man. You know, real estate agents work here.
Journalist – Did you go to the Ministry of Justice, did you go to the Prisons?
Student – No, I didn't go to the office.
Journalist – Let's say you went to the Cadastre...
Student – I understand what you're saying. I didn't go, it's useless!
Journalist – Where exactly did you go?
Student – Oh brother, they only come to meet at the neighborhood bar. With that, 1, 2, 3, you know them here, he knows you.
Journalist – Did he tell you that you need so much money?
Student – You should enter like that.
Journalist – Do you have specific names for these?
Student – No I don't! Names don't...
Journalist – Are you going to report them or not?
Student – No, I don't.
Journalist – We're talking exactly.
Student – No, I don't have any names!
Journalist – Don't you have any specific names?
Student – No. They're not to blame for asking either.
Journalist – I know, I know.
Student – That's how two people got here. We know this story. They went to buy votes there, that's how they got here. I know the reality, everyone knows it. It's worthless and what for a stinking job. I don't want to go to their jobs. Because I have my own things to worry about, when they understand the problem. Because I'm a brother, I told you I didn't start my grandfather's (wealth). My grandfather left me a fortune of 1 (million) euros.
Journalist – Do you have property?
Student – Yes. My grandfather left me 1 (million) euros, so I'll go to the old man, and I can go to the old man, so. I have to tell the other woman what she's doing and report the case to the people who are looking for her. I applied again, he says, let's see, God willing, something will happen. I have to tell these people, who are also scammers.
Journalist – If you say they asked me for 5 to 10 thousand euros, that's a concrete accusation, you understand?
Student – Forget it, brother, the conversation has been going on for 7 months, 4 people have changed in 7 months. Or as the other guy at the cafe would say, I know him. That job is gone.
Student – They're not to blame for what they're asking for, I understand. If it were ours, it would be worse, but come on now.
Journalist – That's not the point.
Student – They all have that job, because they have expenses. They have spent the poor, they have come there to extort now. We know the reality.
Journalist – The idea is, if you didn't denounce him, if he didn't denounce him, if Sokoli didn't denounce him, who would denounce him?!
Student – Oh brother, I've said the word now, those who need to rush to denounce./Fiks Fare
