The wife of Ardian Nikulaj, the businessman who was killed in the premises of his bar on May 19, 2023, has broken the silence. She told the British media about the reception of the foreign nationals who organized the murder of her husband, in their hotel a few days before the event.
In the Daily Mail article, it is said that Ardiani's family agreed to speak just a few days before the extradition decision this Tuesday in the London court.
Ardian's wife has shown in detail how her family hosted the British observation group, who helped the killer, as friends in the newly inaugurated hotel.
Vera, sitting very close to the table with the inscription "reserved" where her husband was killed, cannot hold back her tears and shows her fear of possible Albanian killers, but she never thought that the British would be involved in the murder attack.
The Daily Mail writes that she first saw Harriet Bridgeman, who is the mother of a son, in the hotel restaurant.
"She tried to make eye contact with Ardian. I spoke to her and told her that I speak English and how I could help her. He asked us to find him a car for rent, and Ardiani helped him with that," said Vera.
The day after, the Nikulaj family was having dinner in their restaurant and a little further away was Bridgeman with another British man.
"She wanted to pay with a credit card, but it didn't work. Ardiani told them there is nothing, there was no need to worry and he paid for them. They approached us and thanked Ardian for paying for the food", Vera said.
For the Daily Mail, Ardian's son, Luisi, now 14 years old, also spoke, telling how he saw Harry Simpson near the pool table overlooking the restaurant where his father would later be killed.
Luis Nikolaj said:
"The next day I was eating and he was at the same table. I was eating beans and Simpson said to me: 'Let me try this traditional Albanian food. He took my spoon and started eating beans from my plate. You told my mother that he was a somewhat strange person. Yes, my father told me not to worry, son, he is just a tourist and you don't have to worry about him.''
On the third day, after finishing his pizza and beer at the restaurant, Simpson picked up his tray and tried to hold it behind a curtain in the hotel restaurant where staff and family were working.
Ardiani said: Don't worry, leave it on the table, you are on vacation.
"But Simpson was very curious to know what was behind the curtain."
Suspected killer Ruben Saraiva, a Portuguese-born Briton, was also seen lurking on a staircase near the scene of the shooting the day before the murder.
Local children reported seeing a 'strange man all the time' and one was able to provide a detailed drawing after the murder, relatives said.
