The states of the Western Balkans are expected to ask to be exempted from the obligation of 7 euros to enter the Schengen area.

Citizens of the Western Balkans, Great Britain as well as Moldova and Ukraine will have to pay a visa fee of 7 euros to enter the Schengen area.

This will also apply to citizens of other countries that do not need visas to enter the EU, such as the USA, Australia and Canada.

The permit will last for three years, or until the passport expires. Travelers under the age of 18 and over 70 will be exempted from payment.

Travelers will have to provide personal information online, such as address and employment, as well as criminal record and contact information in the destination country. Most requests are expected to be approved within minutes, but some decisions can take up to 72 hours. The EU has also confirmed the decision to start the operation of the entry-exit system (EES) for the countries of the Schengen area on November 10.

The ETIAS system will require passengers to provide biometric data such as fingerprints and facial images at the border.

This is part of measures aimed at making it more difficult for criminals or terrorists to enter the EU with fake passports.
