The police interrogated Altin Halil, the 46-year-old who miraculously escaped an assassination attempt on him yesterday afternoon in the village of Dushnik in Berat.
"I suspect revenge for the murder I committed in 1997, I have no other conflict," he is said to have said before the investigative group.
On the afternoon of August 26, Altin Halili was driving near a private school, when 3 people shot at him with a barrage of bullets.
"I saw that I was ambushed by a car and there were masked people inside," he declared.
It turns out that the 46-year-old had previous criminal records. In 1997, Halili had killed Sokol Kaloshi, a crime for which he was convicted, and in 2010, after he was released from prison, he left for Italy, and since then, for 14 years, he has not returned to Albania.
The perpetrators after the crime burned the car.
