The Ministry of Education and Sports, Evis Kushi, has stated that they intend to make secondary education compulsory in our country in 2030.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Kushi emphasized, among other things, that in order to achieve this objective, they must have a sufficient budget.

"Albania's vision is for 2030 to find us with compulsory secondary education, but of course it is a big undertaking. We have 9 years of basic education, as many other countries have. Compulsory secondary education does not depend on desire and will but on the budget. We will work in this direction," she said.

Khushi, among other things, said that this year the registration of students has been done online, a process which, according to her, has helped both parents and educational institutions to divide students according to their residences.

"Last year the online registration was a pilot because it was only in a few districts, while this year the registration of students. This year, student registration was online for grades one to ten in all schools in the country. The process has gone well. Statistics are still operational. We will have the official figures in November. Online registration is convenient, parents do not need to receive documents.

This is one of the ways we organize ourselves better. We have the obligation to have a more normal organization and distribution depending on the place of residence. Let's not have more registrations in a school where the capacity is low." - emphasized Kushi, among other things.
