This Monday, teachers in Roskovec protested because they did not receive the money for the transportation they pay when going to schools in rural areas.
The teachers' union there said that since September, dozens of teachers in the Roskovec area do not receive transportation allowances. Representatives of the teachers' union declared today that they will start a strike, escalating it to the complete suspension of classes, if they do not receive an answer to this problem.
"For a teacher who has to spend the summer in Roskovec or Vermishte, I want 100,000 Lek with all the difficulties. We appeal to ZVA Rroskovec, Minister Kushi, Edi Rama, to take it more seriously and resolve this impasse as soon as possible," said a teacher.
Desdemona Karafili, vice president of the union, said that they have complained to all state structures, but have not received any response.
"September, October, November, December, the fund spends about 12 million old lek, which is kept for all the teachers in the area. We took this letter to the petition, with the signature of 34 teachers, we took the letter to the competent bodies, to the ZVA of Rroskovec, to the ministry and today we took it to the Prime Minister," she said.
Teachers' representatives said that one-hour strikes will be the next step, while if there is no solution to the situation, they will boycott classes.
