The Fier Prosecutor's Office has issued security measures for 10 officials of the Fier Regional Directorate of Road Transport Service, accused of corruption and abuse of office.

Investigations have revealed that employees of the Technical Control Center have allowed vehicles with major defects to pass through technical inspection, putting road traffic safety at risk.

For these actions, they are accused of repeated "Abuse of Office".

Meanwhile, two other people, DH and JQ, are suspected of having given a bribe of 2 thousand lek to pass their vehicle's technical inspection, thereby committing the criminal offenses of "Active Corruption" and "Passive Corruption".

The investigations also revealed that another person, DN, offered an illegal benefit to an employee of the Technical Control Center, who not only passed the vehicle through inspection, but also failed to report the case to the justice authorities.

The Fier Prosecution Office has initiated criminal prosecution for the offenses of "Abuse of office", "Active and passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", and "Failure to report a crime".

The specified security measures are:

AM, SK, ES, MG, LM and E.Sh.: Obligation to report to the judicial police and suspension from exercising public office.

JV: Obligation to report to the judicial police and suspension from duty, also suspected of failing to report a crime.

DH and JQ: Obligation to report to the judicial police, for committing active and passive corruption.

DN: Obligation to report to the judicial police, for active corruption.
