Bihane Shaba, 74 years old, lives alone in a 24 square meter apartment in Shkoza, in difficult economic conditions and sick.
The house, built with a lot of effort after the death of her husband more than 20 years ago, is in danger of collapsing.
Not having physical and economic opportunities, she asked for the help of her relatives to put some bars to prevent the further erosion of the soil. But this intervention was considered a violation of the law and construction without permission.
Due to her age, the Tirana Police prosecuted the elderly woman at large.
"I put these bars just to keep my house from collapsing. The police came and said it was construction without a permit. I let it be done as it should be done only for the government and the police to be satisfied. I made this house with a lot of effort because it has been 26 years since my husband died," said Bihane Shaba for Tch.
The 74-year-old woman said that before building the wall to prevent her house from collapsing, Bihane Shaba notified the authorities, but they directed her to the online application, which the old woman could not complete.
