Respiratory infections continue to circulate with intensity even during the summer season. The SPECIALISTS of the IPH say that over a week, in the country, health centers have reported over 6 cases of upper and lower respiratory infections accompanied by prolonged cough, fever, body ache and headache.

"The number of Covid cases has increased during the summer period and this affects the increase in respiratory virosis during this period. The total number of upper respiratory infections is approximately 6300 cases per week," said Adela Vasili, specialist of the IPH.

Large counties have also reported the highest number of cases.

"In the district of Vlora, Fier, Tirana, also durres where the number of cases is greater, but the population is larger as well," she said.

The most affected age group is that of 65 and older, as well as children. Although in few numbers due to complications from respiratory infections, there have been hospitalizations.
