The capital is getting ready for the 'Tirana Marathon'! To make way for the 'track' for the runners, traffic will be diverted over the next two days, while vehicles parked along the perimeter of the race will be removed. 

In terms of safety, the Municipality of Tirana has established temporary road signs, prohibition of staying and rest for vehicles, canceling and covering all previous signs. 

The municipality of Tirana and the municipal police ask for the understanding of the citizens that these two days they use private vehicles as little as possible and do not attempt to enter the perimeter of the race by vehicle, during the course of the race, as this is strictly prohibited. as well as to immediately obey the orders of the police services, in the eventual traffic diversions that will be required. 

Also, the cooperation of citizens is requested not to park their private vehicles within the perimeter of the race and to voluntarily remove the vehicles parked on the streets where the race will take place, if they have parked them a few days before, because otherwise, they will to be moved with a lifting device, by the police services.  

The Municipal Police informs that those citizens, who want to move with their vehicles, which are parked inside the neighborhoods located within the perimeter of the competition, must take them out, outside the perimeter, before 08:00 on October 22, if they have planned trips, as the roads will be blocked until 15:00 and they will not be able to enter and exit by vehicle, from their residential area located within the perimeter of the race. 

In addition to vehicles, the Municipal Police requests the understanding of the drivers of bicycles, scooters, or electric motors not to move on the roads within the perimeter and during the race, as this will be strictly prohibited. Meanwhile, the pedestrians will be helped by the police services and volunteers to cross the road, in the designated places, without becoming an obstacle for the runners.

On October 21, from 09:00-11:00, at blv. Martyrs of the Nation, the "Marathon Fun Run" will take place, with over 2,000 students from 9-year and secondary schools. And on Sunday, from 08:00-15:00, the biggest international sports and promotional activity of the year will take place, which is the super "Tirana Marathon".
