Foreign criminal groups in northern Italy are dominating the territory in the field of drug trafficking and prostitution.
In the area of Brescia and Milan, the organized criminality of narcotics is used by Albanian and African groups.
While Chinese organized crime deals with the exploitation of prostitution, hidden behind the ownership of various massage parlors.
This is confirmed by Fernanco Scarlata, coordinator of the Antimafia Committee in Brescia. According to him, the jobs are "separated": Chinese clans are more active in the field of prostitution, while Albanians are more active in drug trafficking.
But the foreign crime present in the province is particularly characterized by "criminal organizations of Albanian and North African origin that extend, - it was specified during the monitoring of the authorities, - in a large part of Northern Italy, also emphasizing the interactions between Albanian traffickers and to those Italians connected to crime. These are composed and dedicated groups above all, from drug trafficking, to assisting illegal immigration and exploiting prostitution and labor".
Emblematic was the "Crystal" operation, where the Brescia police arrested five people involved in cocaine trafficking.
The investigation revealed a massive traffic in the center of which would be an Albanian citizen residing in Travagliato.
According to the investigations, for the foreign crime in the province of Brescia, it is the Albanians who play the main role.
In drug trafficking, they move not only in the city, but also inland, as in Castenedolo, Mazzano and Rezzato.
Then to Cazzago San Martino, Vobarno and Lonato. Often they collaborate with criminal groups from North Africa.
Not forgetting that in recent years, in Montichiari, the carabinieri had arrested a 41-year-old Albanian woman, partner of a well-known Albanian mafia boss, wanted for international drug trafficking.
"It is enough to remember that in Albania he is considered a kind of 'Pablo Escobari', who also owns some night life venues", - writes the newspaper " Corriere della Sera ".
And, also in Montichiari, there lives a former city councilor, who in 1996 had ended up in the "check to check" investigation carried out by the Court of Torre Annunziata.
At the time, there were around 30 arrest warrants on charges of criminal organization, trafficking in weapons and radioactive materials, gold and debt instruments carried out against Italian and foreign nationals in an investigation into international organizations involved in money laundering.
