Ndrek Prenga, the brother of Jan Prenga, who was kidnapped and killed in January 2020, testified before the Special Court this Friday.
Ndrek Prenga confessed that in 2020 he was in prison in London and that every day he had contact with family members, his wife and children, with whom he communicated through the prison phone.
In front of the black squads, Ndrek Prenga said that he spoke with his brother about a week before the incident happened.
"A black citizen put an 'iPhone' type phone in my room, through which a person with a foreign prefix called me, introducing himself as Gentjan Funiqi.
Funiqi introduced himself on the phone as a person originating from Dukagjini in Shkodra, telling me: 'Give me the thing,'" testified Ndrek Prenga.
He says he was referring to an amount of 260 kilograms of cocaine. During the testimony, he added that Gentjan Funiqi had told him that he tried to communicate with his brother Astriti, but he did not succeed.
"After this message, I replied that I was not aware of what it was about. I called Astrit, but he also said he had no idea what had happened. After a day or two, I was informed by the bride that Jani was taken hostage and that after that I tried to find out what happened", Ndrek Prenga further testified.
After a few days, he was informed that it was about a quantity of 260 kg of cocaine that had been taken at the port, and during the communications that Ndrek Prenga had with Gentiani, the latter told him to hand over that "thing" referring to the quantity of cocaine in order to release the hostage.
Prenga says that his uncle and another person went to Shkodër to meet Gentian Doc's family, where they found his father.
The latter replied that he has no knowledge and responsibility for what his son does. Prenga adds that after the termination of the messages with Gentiani, about whom he was also talking on camera, another number wrote to him, introducing himself as Gramoz, where he also claimed that the cocaine taken from Astrit Prenga is his.
According to Prenga's long testimony, after the police intervened in the Golden complex in Shijak , from that moment he stopped communicating with all the people he had talked to.
From the age of 13, says the witness, he left Albania and moved to Britain.
