Journalist Sokol Bregu has spoken about the death of Egnatia football player Raphael Dwamena after a heart attack during the last challenge against Partizan.
Invited to "Top Story", Bregu emphasized that the former captain of the Reds and Blacks Lorik Cana had experienced something like this during his European dream, a moment which left him with great consequences; heart medications even today.
"Dwamena gave his first interview to his colleague Andy Tufa. It was an exclusive where Dwamena and the captain of the Albanian National Team, Lorik Cana, spoke.
He there expressed a great regret that if you Googled Dwamena, you would find all the time only his heart problems, but never the goals he scored and nothing he did on the field. Dwamena was very aware that death could happen to him on the field, but his passion for football did not leave him.
At the same time, the captain of the national team also told a story of his having heart problems. Cana had a heart problem and kept it a secret. Played with heart problems just for a dream, to be part of the European championship.
He didn't tell anyone, even his club let him play in France, just to be in Europe. "I risked my life a lot", said Cana, "and from that moment every day at 08:00 I drink a drug for the effort that I gave myself on the field."
Dwamena itself provided what we really need to see. A message and I'm sorry that accusations are being made in the Albanian media. We should see it as a moment of hope for all those who may have problems in football. We don't have to deal. Dwamena used to play football before he came here. Played for an amateur team in Switzerland. Professional teams didn't take him because of the problems they would face if something like that happened to them. But he played for teams of the 5th category in Switzerland", said Bregu.
