The Prosecutor's Office of Vlora has rejected the charge brought by the Police Surveillance Agency against former officer Arian Tase. Investigators have not accepted the charge of manslaughter, but have sought indirect manslaughter.

This is with the argument that despite the fact that the former police officer Tase did not wish for the fatal outcome for the 7-year-old, the evidence shows that he entered with full awareness in an area where marine vehicles with engines were not supposed to circulate.

Accused of manslaughter, Tase risked a fine of up to 5 years in prison, while with the new charge he risks 10 to 20 years.

However, this remains to be seen if the investigative bodies will collect the evidence to classify it as intentional murder, while the criminal offense will be classified as indirect, while it remains for the court to decide on the fate of the former officer who with the boat killed 7-year-old Jonada Avdian on the beach of Potami in Himare.

Meanwhile, it is known that the investigators have strong suspicions that their former colleague is involved in criminal organizations that deal with narcotics. It is even suspected that the boat with which Tase hit the 7-year-old was used to transport drugs.

The boat is officially owned by Arjan Tase's cousin, part of a boat rental business. But the Prosecutor's Office and the Police Oversight Agency are verifying their connections as it is believed that the former police officer is behind this activity.

It is not the first time that Arjan Tase is suspected of being involved in drug trafficking. Two years ago, when he was the head of the Himara police station, he was arrested by the Vlora police for allowing the cultivation of cannabis plots.

Tase was charged with abuse of office and placed under house arrest. At the same time, the officer was suspended from duty pending the court's decision.

Some time later, the prosecution dismissed the case, and on the other hand, the Appeal of Vlora rejected the suspension from office. Acquitted of all charges and protected by a court decision, Tase returned to the ranks of the police.
