The brother of the SP MP, Saimir Hasalla,  was escorted by the Elbasan police today (July 21).

It is reported that Denis Hasalla, who holds the position of Director of the Cabinet in the Peqin Municipality, had 30 bullets found in his apartment and was placed in police handcuffs.

Police announcement:

The Criminal Investigation Structures of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate executed the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Elbasan, allowing the search of several apartments, within the framework of a criminal proceeding of 2024.

Following the actions, the arrest of: DH, 35 years old, was made, after a quantity of combat ammunition was found during a search of his apartment.

The combat ammunition was discovered in the house of the socialist MP's brother during checks as part of the investigation into the Elbasan incinerator case.

By order of the prosecution and in implementation of the decision of the Elbasan Court, 14 searches were carried out this morning in the homes of officials, including the administrator of the concession company "ECO-ELB", Leli Kraja.


The focus of the investigations are also several deputy mayors of the Elbasan district, as well as legal and finance directors, who are suspected of having had an active role in institutional and financial relations with the company that manages urban waste.

The inspections are taking place at a time when the Prosecution has completed the interrogation phase of 43 people, who have been summoned to provide explanations regarding the functioning and financial management of the incinerator.

The investigation has been registered for the criminal offenses of "Abuse of office" and "Waste mismanagement", while sources close to the Elbasan Police indicate that the investigation has advanced significantly.

It is expected that in the coming days there will be security measures against several local officials, due to suspicions of abuse of public funds in collaboration with the company "ECO-ELB".
