Elbasan Incinerator/ Police raid the homes of the former deputy mayors of Peqin,

By court decision, the Elbasan Prosecution and Police conducted searches in 14 homes of people linked to the incinerator in the city of Elbasan in the early hours of Monday morning. 

The prosecution's inspections as part of the investigations being conducted at this incinerator for "abuse of office".

Investigations began more than a year ago into the arsonists, as the waste field was engulfed in flames in 2024, but it seems that during the investigation the prosecution found elements of abuse of office.

Phones and many materials have been seized that shed light on the conduct of investigations related to "abuse of office".

Unofficial sources indicate that the homes of the vice mayors or former vice mayors in Peqin, Gramsh, Librazhd and Cërrik have been searched to find documentation related to waste being sent to the incinerator.

Official sources say no arrests are expected in the case today, while it is noted that there may be two arrests for finding illegal items in the apartment./ tch
