An 82-year-old man died after midnight in Kukës, the cause of death is suspected to be asphyxiation, as the apartment where the 82-year-old man lived was engulfed in flames.

The event was recorded around 02:40, near the lake of Kukes, where the flames consumed the house and as a result the 82-year-old Shefik Krasniqi could not leave the apartment. The 82-year-old lived alone, during the pandemic period, Krasniqi considered the coronavirus as God's will. 

"I went out to the city to drink a coffee because I can't stay without a coffee and a shot of brandy. I find a bar to drink a coffee. I don't use the mask because these are God's business. Allah is in hand. I am never safe from God", he said in 2020.

Preliminarily, it is suspected that the cause of the fire was a spark from the wood stove, which was lit all night. The investigative team is at the scene to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
