Who is the perpetrator of serious crimes in Lezha?

Leonard Palushi was present at the serious event on September 28, where his colleague, crime officer Saimir Hoxha, was executed with a firearm by the young man Aldi Rama. In the morning of that day, he together with two officers, Saimir Hoxha and Petrit Doda, traveled in civilian clothes to the island of Lezhë.

According to the testimony of Leonard Palushi, they had disposed of a plot of cannabis and on the way back they exchanged on the road with the vehicle in which the deceased Aldi Rama and two other young men were traveling.

The operatives asked the 21-year-old Aldi Rama to show the means of identification, but at this moment the young man shot a weapon in the direction of the operative Saimir Hoxha, leaving him dead on the spot.

At this moment, Leonard Palushi and Petrit Doda pursued the two young men who were in the car with Aldi Rama, managing to arrest them, while the 21-year-old left the scene in a vehicle.

I work at the Lezhë Local Police Directorate, with the position of head of crimes at the Lezhë Police Station since 2020. On 28.09.2021, as every day, I came to work at 08:00 and around 09:00 along with crime officer, the late Saimir Hoxha, and police officer Petrit Doda, we took the Foristrad car with white license plate TR3997M, which is under the administration of the State Police, and we went to the island-Lezhë on the bank of the Kune-Vain river. We have just gone to the place where there were suspicions that there were cannabis sativa narcotic plants inside the brambles on the river bank.

After we found planted plants suspected to be cannabis sativa, at this time we looked around the area to see if there was anyone and began to carry out investigative actions, such as inspecting the scene, cutting and destroying the narcotic plants by taking a sample for a sample to carried out the chemical examination and put it in the car, after the entire amount of narcotics was burned, we took the car to flee to Lezhë.

I was driving the vehicle, in the first seat was the deceased Saimir Hoxha, while in the back seat was the police inspector Petrit Doda.

On the way, when we were returning towards Lezha, about 100 meters from the place where the asphalt layer of the highway breaks, we were exchanged on the road with a vehicle, which was moving in the direction from Lezha to Kune, in which there were three boys of a young age and it caught our attention, as that area is uninhabited and in the country that opened its arms to be exchanged, they immediately turned behind us to Lezha, after our car. At this moment we noticed that this car was coming behind us, which made us even more suspicious about these people, in these circumstances we discussed the three together and decided to stop them to verify who they were these people and what they were looking for in that area.

After stopping the vehicle, Petrit Doda and I approached from the driver's side and Petriti communicated with the driver of the vehicle, saying that we are police officers and asked for an identification document, notification letter or driver's license, in this while the driver of the vehicle got out of the vehicle, Saimir went to the person who was in the first seat and asked him for a means of identification, who obeyed and got out of the vehicle, meanwhile Saimir addressed the passenger who was sitting in the back seat, behind the passenger on the right side of the vehicle telling him who you are and do you have a document.

I heard that this passenger said to Saimir "I am not to be searched" and immediately I heard a gunshot and saw Saimir moving towards the back of the vehicle, meanwhile Petriti and I avoided the area where he was stopped police car on the side of the road by the lagoon.

During this time that we dodged to position ourselves in front of the police vehicle, I took out my service weapon and I saw that the vehicle of these persons started speeding to leave in the direction of Lezha and I shot several times with the service firearm in the direction of this vehicle, keeping the marking line on the lower part of the vehicle and tires, where the vehicle's tire was torn and continued on the road towards Lezha.

Immediately, together with Petrit, we blocked two people by laying them on the ground. Afterwards, Petriti ran to see Saimir and as soon as he saw him he told me that Saimir was injured. I immediately called the ambulance and we held the two people to accompany them to the police.
