The escape of 43-year-old Gerald Shehu, suspected of being the author of the hostage-taking and then the shooting of 31-year-old Eraldo Nevruzi, who worked as a receptionist in a hotel in Dhërmi, lasted only a few hours.
It is learned that thanks to the cooperation with the Greek police, it was possible to arrest Shehu in the Corfu area, who was heading to the airport to travel to England.
Likewise, the "Audi" type vehicle, suspected to have been used by the perpetrator in this event, was also found in district no. 4 of Saranda.
The investigative group continues to work intensively, in coordination with the Prosecutor's Office, to find the body of Eraldo Novruz and for the complete legal documentation of the event.
The event allegedly happened around 30 minutes after midnight this Thursday in the hotel premises, specifically in the room where the staff is accommodated. There are doubts that initially there was a verbal clash between them, which then degraded to the use of a weapon.
After shooting him, it is suspected that the perpetrator took the 31-year-old and left in a vehicle.
He hid the body and then left for Greece
It was the hotel employees who reported the case, which set the police in motion, who identified the perpetrator and located him in Greece, where he was arrested.
The police and the prosecution are analyzing the security cameras, but this has only led them to the condition and seizure of Gerald Shehu's car. He could not find the receptionist Eraldo Nevruzi, a resident of Tirana.
Two are the main tracks of the investigation, that of a momentary conflict as well as their past, as both lived in England and are suspected to have been involved in various narcotics trafficking activities. Both had acquaintances and were planning to open a business.
For complete documentation, the police announced that 29 people, who may have knowledge of the incident, were questioned.
