Gerald Shehu left Dhërmiu in the direction of Saranda, after he allegedly executed his friend, 31-year-old Eraldo Nevruzi, around 00:30 after midnight, in the hotel "Greccia" where he was employed as a receptionist.

It is learned that the serious incident took place in one of the hotel rooms, where Shehu raped Nevruz and then shot him dead with a firearm.

The suspicions that Shehu killed Nevruz are due to two gunshots that witnesses heard after midnight, as well as some blood stains found in the hotel.

Afterwards, it is suspected that Shehu took Nevruz's body in the car and may have thrown it in the area, along the road that leads to Saranda.

In the city of Saranda, Shehu, who is co-owner of the hotel where the crime took place, left his car with English license plates and left for Corfu.

On the Greek island, it became possible to stop him at the airport, it is thought during the attempt to leave for Great Britain, where he also lived with the 31-year-old Nevruzi and had regular residence documents.

The police are investigating two tracks for the possible murder of Eraldo Nevruzi, that of a momentary conflict, but also the breakdown of the bazaars, since the two knew each other and had lived together for a while in Britain, and recently planned to open a business together.

In 2022, Gerald Shehu turns out to have been prosecuted by the police for illegal construction by the sea in Dhërmi.
