The person you see in the photo is Geriana Arapi, the co-shareholder of the private clinic "International Medicare" which was closed today by Tirana Police, after failing to declare profits worth 1 million euros and hospital services were performed with expired products.

Bilal Kara and Geriana Arapi, the two co-shareholders of the “Sante Plus” hospital in the “Zog i Zi” area in Tirana, have been declared wanted by the Tirana Police. According to authorities, the Turkish citizen and the Albanian woman have left the territory of Albania. During the police operation, the only one who was handcuffed was the administrator Edmond Zaja, while Kara and Arapi were declared wanted, who according to police sources are known to be outside the territory of Albania.

The private hospital "Sante Plus" has been frequently denounced in the media for operations that have nearly taken the lives of patients, while on its papers it appears registered under the trade name: SANTE PLUS GROUP "INTERNATIONAL MEDICARE HOSPITAL".

The investigations and checks resulted in the following:

– the entity had not declared profits worth over 1,000,000 euros during the period 2024-2025;

– hospital services in this entity were performed with products prohibited for use;

– uninsured citizens worked in this entity.

Under these conditions, the private hospital was immediately blocked and its administrator, citizen Edmond Zaja, was arrested.

During the investigation period of several months, in coordination with the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, as well as from controls on the subject, it was found that through the issuance of untaxed invoices, tax evasion worth over 1,000,000 euros, or 1 billion Albanian lek, had been committed.

The investigative group has seized 100 blocks of untaxed warrants, 27 types of suspected expired medications, and 6 computer units.

Also, the hospital used suspected smuggled medications, prohibited for use by the competent authorities, and 5 citizens were employed without insurance.
