Albania remains a small market on the European Union's arms export map, but data shows that it is a stable part of this system.
According to the latest EU report for 2024, member states have granted a total of 18 export licenses to Albania, with a total value of around 2.9 million euros.
These licenses include various military equipment and technologies, from basic categories to support equipment.
The supply to Albania does not come from a single source. Austria is among the main countries with over 1 million euros, while Bulgaria shows a noticeable difference between licenses and real exports, which in some cases reach much higher levels.
Countries like France, Italy, and Hungary are also part of this supply network, with more moderate values.
An important element that emerges from the report is the fact that approved licenses do not always translate directly into actual exports within the same year.
In some cases, exports are higher due to previous contracts or their delayed implementation.
This means that annual figures do not always give a complete picture of the real flow of weapons.
In this context, Albania appears as a small but integrated partner in the European defense market.
Although the values are modest compared to other destinations, its participation in this system demonstrates a continuing connection with the EU defense industry.
