The leader of Reform UK said he had been in talks with Edi Rama, the Prime Minister of Albania, about an agreement related to the deportation of criminals.
During a press conference where he presented his party's policy on criminal justice, Mr Farage stated:
"I am in conversation with Edi Rama from Albania and I think he has agreed that he will take back all the Albanian prisoners who are in this country, which is quite positive."
These comments appear to come after Mr. Farage challenged Mr. Rama on Platform X to take back Albanian criminals, following accusations of hypocrisy regarding comments the latter had made about Britain, describing it as a "dark place" after leaving the EU.
The leader of Reform UK stated that his entire political program would cost £17.4 billion, which would be provided through the cancellation of the HS2 project and the removal of the net zero emissions target.
Mr Farage also suggested that a Reform government would introduce a "three strikes" system for repeat offenders of the serious crime law.
“If people are convicted of more than three felony offenses, then, frankly, we think that puts them on a path to life in prison,” he said Monday.
To create more capacity in prisons, he proposed the construction of "Nightingale prisons", a form of temporary prison inspired by the hospitals built during the Covid-19 pandemic./ Telegraph
