The Special Court has rejected the request of former minister Arben Ahmetaj to release a bank account in his name from the measure of preventive seizure.

The account in question was one of the six assets placed under sequestration on account of the investigation launched against the former deputy prime minister for the criminal offenses of "corruption", "money laundering" and "concealment of assets".

According to judge Erjon Bani, the request presented by Ahmetaj's lawyers was not based on evidence and law.
