Two years ago, a collection point for canal reeds was opened in the village of Imsht in Lushnja. This point that exports them to Italy employs about 10 workers.

Reeds are collected through the canals of Myzeqe. A worker has to clean 1 thousand pieces of cane to get 20 thousand old lek per day.

Channel canes are required for tying bean and watermelon seedlings in Italy. They are selected 3 meters long and after being cleaned, they are tied and placed in pressed containers, Tch reports.

Another point is in Fier and these businesses have influenced that the cleaning of the canals is no longer done by setting them on fire.
