The police have announced that the person who called the police about placing a bomb in the Court of Appeal in Tirana has been identified.

Police Notification

"The citizen who called at around 11:00 on 08.11.2022, in the operating room of the DVP Tirana, to announce the deployment of a quantity of explosive material to the Court of Appeal, is identified and criminally prosecuted.

The structures of the State Police, including the Anti-Terror Directorate, were notified of the placement of an explosive substance in the building of the Court of Appeal (without specifically specifying in which building the court of appeal).

On the part of the structures of the Directorate of Anti-Terror, the first investigative, verification and control actions were carried out, in cooperation with the Anti-Explosive Unit of the Special Department RENEA and with the officers of Police Station No. 1 and No. 3, Tirana.

After all the actions carried out, no explosive material was found in any of the premises around the buildings.

Following the actions, the Anti-Terror Directorate referred the procedural materials to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance in Tirana, for the criminal offense "Spreading false information that incites panic", for the citizen JK, 47 years old, suspected of having health problems mental.

Procedural actions continue, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Court of First Instance, for the complete documentation of the commission of the criminal offense, the identification and capture of other citizens who are suspected of inciting the JK citizen to make a false phone call in the operating room, spreading panic and alerting the police services,"
