Oncology doctor Alketa Pere has reacted after the great public revolt against her and her colleagues when the prosecution discovered a fraud scheme with cancer patients.

Invited to the show "Top Story", Pere said that she has no connection with the group of doctors who sent patients to private clinics. She said she was aware and had previously reported the case.

The doctor said that she has gone through a difficult situation due to the charges brought against her.

"It only took me a moment to jump from the balcony. The accusation was so serious, so fast, I ran away from work, the moment I ran away from work, the patient reacted, and I didn't know where I was going. I was going to a judicial process, because I didn't understand where the case was," she said.

Doctor Pere said that he apologizes to the journalist for the confrontation in front of the Court, as he did not recognize him as a journalist.

"The day I found out from OPGJ, I had a lot of patients, they come to me and tell me that you have appeared on the portals. I didn't have time, I was looking at my photo and I was saying "oh my God what happened". The photo was distorted. I apologize to that journalist for saying "who are you". That he told me you received a suspension decision, I didn't even know the suspension decision that I received the day after", she said.

She further said that regarding the prosecution's accusation that she signed a report, Pere said that it was only a note and not a signature.

"I haven't read anything because I get messages from patients and I don't have time. I see the traumatized children who tell me. Even today I don't know anything about what the portals wrote. I will look at them in a second.

The complaint was about people who trafficked patients to private clinics. I have raised this issue several times. I told them "please don't send patients to private clinics." Malignancy cannot be cured in private clinics", said Pere.
