A 28-year-old man has been arrested by the Police, after being accused of computer fraud. As part of the coded police operation "Account", citizen Liridon Peka , a resident of Tirana, was arrested  .

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen, in cooperation with other citizens, has stolen the accounts of various Kosovar citizens, on the Facebook social network, and then communicated with the families and relatives of these citizens, to request sums of different amounts of money, with the claim that he was in the hospital or for other reasons.

After receiving the messages on social networks, family members and relatives sent the sums of money through the money transfer network. The amount benefited from this criminal activity is over 100,000 euros.

The police announce that as material evidence, 7 bank cards, 2 laptops, other computer equipment and 62 mandates issued by the subsidiaries of the money transfer network were seized, after the withdrawal of monetary amounts from this citizen.

After several months of investigations, the coded police operation "Account" for the attack on computer fraud is finalized.

The operation, from Unit "C" for the Investigation of Computer Crimes in the Department of Criminal Police in DPSSH, in cooperation with the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.

He stole the accounts of various Kosovar citizens, on the Facebook social network, and used them to obtain sums of money from the families and relatives of the citizens whose accounts were stolen, the 28-year-old was identified and arrested.

The 28-year-old received various amounts of money (over 100,000 euros in total) from the family members and relatives of the Facebook account holders, after he had sent them messages that he needed money.

7 bank cards, 2 laptops, other computer equipment and 62 mandates issued after the withdrawal of monetary amounts were seized.

Njësia “C” për Hetimin e Krimeve Kompjuterike në Departamentin e Policisë Kriminale në Drejtorinë e Përgjithshme të Policisë së Shtetit, pas kallëzimeve të marra nga disa shtetas kosovarë, për vjedhjen e llogarive të tyre në rrjetet sociale dhe përdorimin për të kërkuar para nga familjarët e tyre, në bashkëpunim me Drejtorinë Vendore të Policisë Tiranë, në drejtimin e Prokurorisë pranë Gjykatës së Rrethit Gjyqësor Tiranë, ka organizuar dhe finalizuar operacionin policor të koduar “Account”, për dokumentimin e kësaj veprimtarive kriminale, identifikimin e autorit dhe vënien e tij përpara përgjegjësi ligjore.

Si rezultat i këtij operacioni është bërë e mundur kapja dhe ekzekutimi i masës së sigurisë “Arrest në burg”, të caktuar nga Gjykata e Rrethit Gjyqësor Tiranë, për shtetasin:

L. P., 28 vjeç, banues në Tiranë.

Nga veprimet hetimore dyshohet se ky shtetas, në bashkëpunim me shtetas të tjerë, ka vjedhur llogaritë e shtetasve të ndryshëm kosovarë, në rrjetin social facebook, dhe më pas ka komunikuar me familjarët dhe të afërmit e këtyre shtetasve, për t’iu kërkuar shuma të ndryshme parash, me pretendimin se ishte në spital ose për arsye të tjera. Pasi kanë marrë mesazhet në rrjetet sociale, familjarët dhe të afërmit kanë dërguar shumat e parave me anë të rrjetit të transfertave monetare. Shuma e përfituar nga kjo veprimtari kriminale është mbi 100 000 euro.

Në cilësinë e provës materiale janë sekuestruar 7 karta bankare, 2 laptopë, pajisje të tjera kompjuterike dhe 62 mandate të lëshuara nga filialet e rrjetit të transfertave monetare, pas tërheqjes së shumave monetare nga ky shtetas.

At the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, work continues to identify and bring to the fore the legal responsibility of other citizens involved in this criminal activity.

The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Judicial District Court, for the criminal offense "Computer Fraud", committed in cooperation.
