Dashamir Xhika, former director of the Albanian road authority, appeared today at SPAK.

Xhika was previously arrested for corruption.

In February 2018, Dashamir Xhika, then head of the road authority, was arrested for corruption. Together with him, his two subordinates, Albens Alite and Aksel Qorduka, ended up in the cell.

The accusation was that they had abused the funds for the construction of the Tirana-Elbasan road. The audit of the Ministry of Infrastructure led by Damian Gjiknuri, calculated that the damage caused was 36 million dollars.

After the audit, Gjiknuri sued Dashamir Xhika and his subordinates claiming that the road costs were increased to favor the Aktor company that was building the road. From this action they would benefit money for themselves.
