Well-known journalist and leader of the "Union of Journalists", Aleksandër Çipa has raised strong concerns over the lifelong ban on journalist Artan Hoxha from entering Greece.
Çipa said on the show "Breaking" with moderator Dafina Hysa that this is not the first case, as previously journalists Marin Mema, Enrik Mehmeti, and Çipa himself were unjustifiably detained and delayed at the border crossing by the Greek side.
He said that this issue should be raised at the level of discussion not only between the two countries, but also at the international level.
"I hope we will have reactions at a high diplomatic level. Because it is not only the case of Mr. Hoxha, but there are also many other journalists, considered dangerous. There are cases of journalists who deal with issues between the two countries or Albanians in Greece, and are considered undesirable. We also had the case of Marin Mema and journalist Enrik Mehmeti. On the other hand, I have also denounced my unjustified delay by the Greek authorities.
We do not have a decision on why Mr. Hoxha has been described as such. These cases deserve not only discussion between the two states, but also at international levels. The lack of clarification of these cases, in the conditions when he has no open judicial process in the neighboring state. These may bring obstacles to exchanges between Greek and Albanian journalism in general", Çipa declared in Top News.
