The new head of SPAK, Klodian Braho , faced off with members of the Albanian Parliament even before he officially took office, when he appeared before the Council of Rules, Mandates and Immunities to request authorization to arrest Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku .

The handover ceremony from his predecessor, Altin Dumani , took place three days later.

In an interview with BIRN , Braho revealed the priorities of his leadership at the head of the Special Structure, an institution that enjoys the highest level of public trust and strong support from the US and the European Union.

He emphasized that the main focus will be to guarantee equality before the law, underlining that no one will be above it.

According to him, SPAK will continue in-depth investigations into ongoing cases, including the verification of illegally obtained assets and their confiscation.

Braho also emphasized the importance of strengthening the independence and professionalism of prosecutors and investigators, as well as increasing institutional capacities for information collection and analysis.

" Our goal is to increase citizens' trust in justice, through high standards in the fight against corruption and organized crime ," declared the head of SPAK, who officially took office on December 19.
