As announced by the media a few weeks ago, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Evis Sala, has resigned from her post. Sala announced the decision during a government meeting held this Wednesday, ending a relatively short mandate at the head of one of the most important government departments.

Aware of Sala's departure since the beginning of August, Prime Minister Edi Rama is said to have identified Minister Sala's replacement, to be entrusted with the leadership of one of the most sensitive, problematic and key branches of government. According to sources, one of the names on Rama's table as a contender for Health Minister is the renowned doctor Gentjan Asllanaj, a manager and expert in the healthcare system, especially the QSUT.

Gentjan Asllanaj, lecturer at the University of Medicine in Tirana, director of the 'Podcast with the Doctor' platform and executive director of the largest organization in the Balkans, 'Brainstorm', for organizing scientific activities, trainings and multidisciplinary conferences for students and professionals in the medical fields, is reported to have received a proposal from a proposal to be nominated for Minister of Health.

According to sources, Asllanaj belongs to the lineage of a former important minister in the Rama government, who is apparently the interlocutor between Rama and Asllanaj.
